Teresa Stayer, age 58, passed away peacefully on Sunday 10/20/2019 after a long illness, at St. Joseph Hospital, in Ypsilanti, MI. Teresa was born February 4th, 1961 in Grosse Pointe to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bartz. Teresa is a graduate of Fraser High School where she was a drummer with the marching band. Teresa attended Oakland University’s and was in the 1st graduating class for Physical Therapy in 1984. She enjoyed her career as a Physical Therapist and worked her way from staff therapist at Beaumont Hospital – Royal Oak, progressed to Director of Physical Therapy at North Oakland Medical Center in Pontiac and completed her career as Vice President and Director of Therapy Services at Spectra Med Inc in West Bloomfield, MI.

Teresa married Daniel Stayer on September 9, 1989 at St. Hugo of the Hills Catholic Church in Bloomfield Hills, MI. Teresa was truly a people’s person and always put the interests of others before her own. She was also very active in the Republican Party, elected as precinct delegate for Rochester Hills, she was on State Committee and was a delegate to several national conventions for the Michigan Republican Party. Teresa loved and was dedicated to her alma-mater, Oakland University where she was active in the Oakland University Alumni Association.  

Teresa is survived by her husband, Daniel and 4 children Davida, Lauren, Charlie and Luke. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers John, Kathleen, Charlene, Peggy and Tommy as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.  

The family will receive friends Thursday 5-8 p.m. and Friday 2-8 p.m. with Scripture Service on Friday at 7 p.m. at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Rd. (between Maple and Big Beaver), 248-362-2500.

The Funeral Mass will be on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Hugo of the Hills Catholic Church, 2215 Opdyke Rd., Bloomfield Hills. Visitation at church begins at 10:30 a.m.

Interment will be at White Chapel Cemetery directly afterwards.
