Oakland CountyRepublican Party
Home / The OCRP Difference

A county party built like a campaign that never ends.

Most county parties go quiet between elections. Since 2023, OCRP has been building permanent infrastructure instead: modeled voter data, a year-round field program, and our own software, all shared at no charge with Republican candidates.

Every voter. Twenty-nine scores.

Most campaigns and organizations sort voters into three piles: ours, theirs, and undecided. We start from i360’s modeled voter file, which scores every registered voter in Oakland County on how Republican they lean, how likely they are to vote, and where they stand on issues from school choice to border security. Then we build the specific universe each message needs.

Activist model

Finding our next leaders

Pinpoints the conservatives most likely to step up, for precinct delegate recruitment and new volunteers.

Cord cutter model

Reaching voters TV can’t

Flags households that have dropped cable, so doors, phones, and mail go where broadcast ads never land.

Parental involvement model

Winning school boards

Finds the parents most engaged in their kids’ education for school board mail and turnout.

Donor model

Growing small-dollar support

Focuses email and text fundraising on the supporters most likely to chip in.

Knocking doors since 2023. We never stopped.

In 2023 OCRP launched the earliest coordinated field program in Michigan Republican history, with City and Township Captains recruited in every municipality in the county. That program has been knocking doors continuously ever since.

Surround-sound voter contact: doors, texts, mail, calls, and digital all aimed at the same voter, with a door knock triggering an automatic follow-up text and texts timed to mail delivery. Knock → auto text Timed to mail day DOORS TEXTS MAIL CALLS DIGITAL ONE VOTER MATCHED TO THE VOTER FILE

Surround sound, not scattershot.

Every channel points at the same voter and each touch sets up the next. A door knock triggers an automatic follow-up text. Texts land the day the mail does. Digital ads are matched to the voter file, so the voter who met a volunteer on Saturday sees the same message online on Monday.

Door-to-door experiments show roughly one vote won for every 14 conversations, and a well-run field program lifts turnout in its target universe by 1–3%. In local races decided by a few hundred votes, that is the margin.

We win the bottom of the ballot.

Statewide and national campaigns bring their own money and their own ground game. The races they leave behind, like county commission, township board, the courts, and school board, are often decided by a few hundred votes, and many conservative voters don’t know who the conservative candidates are. That is where a county party moves the most votes for the least money.

OaklandGOPSlate.org

Any voter enters an address and instantly sees every Republican and Republican-endorsed candidate on their ballot, top to bottom, plus absentee ballot requests and polling-location lookup. District committees and clubs put the same link on their own slate cards and literature.

Early and absentee, early

We launched our first absentee and early-vote program ahead of the 2023 municipal elections, a year before the new rules took effect statewide. More than 3,000 voters scanned the QR code on our slate mailer and started an absentee request, and we sent over 500,000 texts encouraging early, absentee, and Election Day voting.

Nonpartisan races count

Our digital ads, texts, and voter guides extend to Republican-endorsed candidates in nonpartisan races like school board.

We write our own software.

Instead of renting tools one campaign at a time, OCRP built three platforms that every Republican candidate and organization in Michigan can use free. We found that off-the-shelf software often could not meet the needs of an integrative county party operation, so we built custom software to meet those needs.

GOP Voter Center

gopvoter.center ↗

Any Michigan county party or district committee can launch its own voter-guide website, modeled on OaklandGOPSlate.org.

  • One guide, two front doors: a Republican-branded site and a neutral LocalVoter.center version that travels outside party channels
  • Every word and button editable by the local committee
  • OCRP pays for hosting, so it costs other counties nothing

GOP Action Center

gopaction.center ↗

Petitions, surveys, and coalition-building pages that turn supporters into an organized, exportable contact list.

  • Five action types plus volunteer shift sign-ups
  • Every action feeds one contact file the campaign owns
  • Comparable vendor tools run about $1,200 a month per State Senate candidate; we estimate over $2 million in savings this cycle

GOP Training Center

goptraining.center ↗

A free online academy for Michigan Republicans, with new courses added continuously.

  • 11 courses, 73 modules, and 234 lessons
  • Running for office, fundraising, messaging, FOIA research, social media, and more
  • Certification exams signed by the Chairman

One headquarters. The whole ticket.

Candidates share our costs instead of each paying for the same things alone. That’s why a dollar given to OCRP works for every Republican on the ballot.

A home base

A central office on Woodward where candidates and their teams distribute signs and literature and hold meetings.

Free training

Candidate and activist training at no cost, plus press lists and media training.

Big-event presence

We cover the cost of a Republican presence at Arts, Beats & Eats and the Woodward Dream Cruise.

The newsletter

A bi-weekly newsletter that puts candidate events in front of voters at no cost to the candidate.

Defining the opponent

Dedicated research microsites, backed by digital, text, and mail, so the party carries that job and candidates can stay positive.

Legal & accountability

Ballot-access challenges and campaign-finance accountability. In August 2026 we filed 115 disclaimer complaints with the Michigan Bureau of Elections for its review.

It works in hostile territory.

Data, digital, legal, and field together produce wins even where the odds say they shouldn’t.

Southfield City Clerk

A Republican win in a city Whitmer carried with 89%.

OCRP’s legal team challenged the Democrat candidate’s nominating petitions, and she was removed from the ballot after the Secretary of State confirmed 40+ invalid signatures. Despite the Michigan Democratic Party pouring mail and ground resources into a write-in campaign, Republican Gabi Grossbard won, with OCRP providing direct partnership, ground game, and voter data.

Regional Enhancement Millage

A $131.7M-a-year tax hike, defeated in August.

OCRP ran the first and largest voter education effort against an unrestricted 1.5-mill property tax increase for six years, including OaklandTaxFacts.com and MillageMadness.com, an interactive web game built for younger and low-turnout voters. It was defeated in the August primary, a hard environment to beat a millage in.
